ANGELO RECCHI... something about me
Hi everyone!
I thought a small presentation would be a good idea, so let me introduce myself.

I was born on a windy, foggy and cold morning of November, the 30th, in 1977. Within an hour, I immediately went out for a small tour - in the hospital next to the one where I saw the light for the first time. You know, I wanted to go out for a while... well, actually I had some troubles on my birth, but I prefer to think that I was a traveller since the very beginning of my life.
I grew up in Ancona, capital town of Le Marche. It's a wonderful city, in a beautiful region. A tip: in case you happen to visit Ancona, just ask me or a native of Ancona what to see, where to go, and to come accompany you. This is because Ancona has hidden treasures, quite often not discovered by travellers, and places known only to the locals. You could assume that its just a modern port (althought it dates back to 700 B.C.), with nothing interesting to see, except from the Cathedral of San Ciriaco. On the contrary, it has a number of beautiful piazzas (squares), many old lanes and a lighthouse. Moreover, from the Cathedral you can watch the sun rising and setting on the sea. Ancona is the only place in the world (with Acapulco, Mexico) to show such a particular phenomenon without being an island.
My father is a fisherman, so I grew up eating fish about six times a week, which has been an extremely good way to learn everything about it. When I was 10, I moved from the city centre to the seaside, in Palombina Nuova. Still Ancona, but I could go to the seaside three months a year. I realize how lucky I was when I went to the university in Bologna, which has no sea at all. For five years, even though I like and I love Bologna, I felt as if I couldn't breath. Indeed, the sea is more than an amusement, for me: it means my life, it gives me food, oxygen and pleasure.
After
the High School, in Falconara Marittima, I moved to Bologna, at the Università
degli Studi. It was 1996. I studied Communication
Sciences, the course of degree founded by Umberto
Eco. I lived in Bologna for five years, plus one year in Amsterdam,
as an Erasmus exchange student. It has been a wonderful experience, which enriched
me both from a cultural and from a "human" point of view. In November
2002, I got my degree, with a mark of 106/110.
I then decided to work in the field of tourism, in particular Le Marche has a wonderful selection of local food and some 12 different types of wine. No doubt it's a food Paradise. Since I travelled throughout Europe, Canada and a small part of Usa, I started to think how to "add value" to this beautiful land. This idea has been living in my brain for years, during the University. Eventually, I decided to work on it, after the degree. Travelling throughout Le Marche, taking pictures, studying art, talking with people, reading specialized magazines, following courses, tasting foods and wines. I know this doesn’t sound like a "hard" work, but actually it is!
At
the moment, I'm organizing and running tours in Le Marche,
in English and Italian (and Spanish, if you like): if you would like more information
on our plans in Le Marche, please email me to receive
my newsletter, or simply read
my blog (I have also an Italian
blog).
Of course, any question for information about Le Marche is welcome (and FREE!).
