Quality of life in Le Marche: a spot

In my life, I had the chance to live in the Pianura Padana, and in Holland. Both are beautiful, except for one thing: in a sunny day, nowhere to go to admire the view of the town. No hill, no Offagna, no Monte Conero, no Appennini, no Sibillini to go to enjoy the view, and think about the infinity...

"Interminati spazi e sovrumani silenzi..." how I miss you when in the plains!

A delicious night in Ancona

This is highly recommended for those of you who are in Ancona or nearby: next Saturday, the 17th December, a very interesting cultural night will take place at the Mole Vanvitelliana, in the frame of Leonardo da Vinci exhibition. There will be a discussion on Leonardo and the food of his time, and, afterward, a dinner with the common dishes of that time. I have really no clue on how nor what one could eat, but I guarantee on the chef, Andrea Chiappa, of the Ristorante Traiano.

It's really a "historical" dinner!

The Le Marche bloggers' dinner!

It might sound strange, while talking about the Internet one thinks about globalization, world distances erased and so on.
But it may happen that some surfers - well, bloggers! - decide to meet themselves for dinner. The common background is to be all from Le Marche. So, they met last Friday in Senigallia. Unfortunately, I couldn't go, and I missed it a lot. Moreover, I know Luca Conti, the blogger who arranged the meeting, one of the best and most informed bloggers in Italy, and I really would have liked to meet him again.

Anyway, the dinner went very well, and the next meeting - who knows when? - will be, probably, in Macerata.

It's one of the many ways to show how here in Le Marche everything is united in front of a gathering, sharing a dinner together. Even the web, the immaterial, the Macdonaldized World Wide Web obeys to the law of the food and good company!

The day of Le Marche: here is the logo!!!

Now it's becoming a little bit funny... we have the logo for the day of Le Marche, 10th December.

What to say? It's a nice logo, though. You can see it better by double clicking on the picture.

So, those of you who would like to take part to the day, maybe for a weekend in Le Marche, just let me know! :-)

The Big Council of Marchigiani abroad

Italy is full of Marchigiani (inhabitants from Le Marche). If you go to Rome, for instance, a lot of people have their roots in Le Marche, while at the beginning of the century, and after the second world war, the immigration pointed to Rome, big and close expanding town.

Not only Italy, actually. For instance, the city of Ancona is not only in Le Marche, but also in USA and Bolivia.

People from le Marche are strange, though. They would like to escape, to go away, but still they want to come back. One of the most famous Marchigiani wandering around Italy was Giacomo Leopardi, one of the greatest Italian writers and philosopher. He felt like in prison, but when outside he was always talking about the beautiness of his region, the mountains, the food (especially the fig salami).

Another was Luigi Albertini, the best newspaper director ever. He made the Corriere della Sera the first newspaper of Italy in less than 5 years, at the beginning of XX century. Only the Fascist Regime could take him apart.

It's strange that we feel like Ulisse, following the sea, exploring the world, but always having an Itaca to go back.

Therefore, the Marche Regional Board has fixed a Council of the Marchigiani abroad. The meeting is tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday, with people from Australia, Usa, Argentina and so on.

So nice, thinking about people from all over the world, with Le Marche in their heart...
